Your song files never leave your device
The songs you add are decoded and analyzed inside your browser. Blendline never uploads your song files. The only audio that ever leaves your device is a short clip of a blend you mixed, and only if you choose to share that blend on Explore.
Using Blendline without an account
You can use every feature without signing in. In that case nothing about you is sent to a Blendline database. Your browser keeps a small amount of data on your own device so the app works between visits:
- custom mixes you save in Free mix (song names, lengths, cue points, tempo, and your knob and fader moves);
- the tab you last had open, and a short-lived list of which artist photos to show;
- short audio clips of the mixes you save in Free mix, kept only on this device until you choose to share one.
- the display name you picked for comments, if you have commented.
You can remove this at any time by deleting the mixes in the app or clearing this site's data in your browser.
If you create an account
Signing in is optional and is only needed to save mixes to your account and sync them across devices. When you sign in we store:
- Your email address, so you can sign in.
- Basic Google profile details if you choose "Continue with Google": the name and profile picture Google shares with the sign-in. We do not get access to your Google password, contacts, Drive or anything else.
- The mix data you save: custom mixes (song names, tempo, key, length, cue points, and knob and fader moves) and tracklists (song names, tempo, key and length, in order).
- Comments and reactions on DJ sets, if you post any. Comments are public: anyone can read them, next to the display name you choose. Your email address is never shown. Reactions are shown only as totals, not by name. Reports you file about a comment are visible only to moderators.
- Your profile, if you set one up: username, profile picture, banner, bio, and any Instagram, TikTok or Snapchat username or contact email you choose to add. Profiles are public, so anyone can see these, including the contact email. Pictures are stored in our database provider's file storage. Reports about a profile are visible only to moderators.
- Blends you share on Explore, if you share any. These are public, including a short audio clip of your mix if the mix has one: your display name, the title and tips you write, the two track IDs, the cue points and moves, and any recording link you add. Reports you file about a post are visible only to moderators.
- Sign-in records such as when you last signed in, kept by the sign-in service for security.
Comments are checked automatically for blocked words and links, and moderators can hide or remove comments that break the rules. Your saved mixes are private to your account. Database rules allow each signed-in person to read and change only their own rows. While you are signed in, your browser also stores a sign-in token on your device to keep you signed in.
Feedback
If you use the Send feedback button, we store your message, the part of the site you were on, the time, and your email address only if you choose to give it. If you are signed in, the message is linked to your account. We use feedback only to improve Blendline and to reply when you ask us to.
What we don't do
- No advertising and no analytics or tracking scripts.
- We don't sell or rent your data, and we don't use it to train anything.
- We don't send marketing email. The only email you get is the sign-in link you ask for.
Services that help run Blendline
These providers process data on our behalf or receive standard web requests (such as your IP address) when your browser loads something from them:
- Supabase runs sign-in and the database that holds account data.
- Google handles sign-in if you choose "Continue with Google", and serves the fonts.
- Wikimedia (Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons) serves the artist photos shown on DJ sets.
- Wikimedia also serves the free tracks when you add one to your set.
- Cloudflare hosts the site and keeps standard server logs.
- jsDelivr delivers the sign-in code library.
- Beatport serves the cover images shown in the House Top 30 chart.
When you press Listen on an Explore post, the YouTube, SoundCloud, Spotify or Mixcloud player for that post loads from that service, which may set its own cookies. Nothing loads from them until you press Listen. Links to YouTube and other sites open those sites, which have their own policies.
Keeping and deleting your data
Account data is kept until you delete it. You are in control:
- Delete any saved mix or tracklist from the My mixes tab. It is removed from your account right away.
- Delete any comment you posted with the Delete link under it, and remove a reaction by tapping it again.
- Delete any blend you shared with the Delete button on its Explore post.
- Change or remove anything on your profile, including your pictures and contact email, with Edit profile.
- Choose Delete my account in the My mixes tab or the Account menu. This permanently deletes your account, your profile and pictures, and every mix, tracklist, Explore post, comment and reaction saved to it. Backups held by our database provider expire on their normal schedule.
- Signing out removes synced mixes from that device; they stay in your account.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, or to object to how it is used. Contact us and we will help.
Children
Blendline is not directed at children under 13, and accounts are not intended for them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update the date at the top of this page.
